How does a No Win No Fee payment structure Work?
Usually, if you try to make a claim, there are circumstances that
will determine your success or not. If you are unsuccessful in
the claim then you under a No Win No Fee engagement, you are not
charged any legal fees. However, if you are successful, then you
will be charged a fee accordingly in agreement with your Solicitors
rates.
This can be a percentage of the settlement money or some other
agreement depending on the particular solicitor or lawyer you
work with.
What
is Legal Aid?
Legal aid is different to a No Win No Fee arrangement. It is financial
assistance which is funded by the Government.
Usually it is not awarded in personal injury cases.
Paying for own Legal costs
As insurance polices cover most events, it is rare that someone
would pay their own bill for a personal injury claim. If the claim
is unsuccessful then a person could be up for a very large bill
due to having to pay out the legal fees from the other side's
Solicitors.
